This is a quick guide on how to beat Homo Pento, another optional boss that can be encountered during the Trial of Malnova quest in Metaphor: ReFantazio. It is worth noting that fighting this boss is unnecessary and the Protagonist and their party members could simply look the other way and ignore it, but there is no fun in running.
Players can invest in the right equipment to exploit the weaknesses of Homo Pento. After a brief exchange of attacks with the turn-based combat system, the party shouldn’t be too worried about going up against this overpowered boss and focus on the prize.
Where Can You Find Homo Pento?
The Protagonist and their party members can find Homo Pento at the Land of Ceremony as part of the Trial of Malnova quest. It is one of the few optional quests in Metaphor: ReFantazio; however, it would be a shame and a missed opportunity to enter a dungeon and not see it through to the end that could give the party an extra boost to help them in their journey.
It may be optional, but players could miss valuable resources and items. Others may think it is a waste of time to fight a powerful boss like Homo Pento when they could conserve the resources fighting major mandatory bosses, but this could give them additional experience points to quickly rank up their archetypes.
How to Prepare to Fight Homo Pento?
Like every other dungeon boss, the party will first encounter smaller enemies that will pit themselves between the party and Homo Pento. Players can use Fae Sight to determine the levels of nearby enemies and to figure out the best way to defeat them ahead of time.
Tip
Homo Pento is susceptible to fire skills; however, this boss can deflect incoming wind attacks.
While Homo Pento is not invincible, neither are the Protagonist and their friends. Players should prepare enough healing items in their inventory for quick consumption before squaring off against this boss. Players can keep using various fire skills to quickly chip away at the lengthy health bar with the right party members tagged along and the required archetypes equipped.
Suggested Party
The Protagonist | With the Wizard archetype equipped, the Protagonist will be on the offensive against Homo Pento since they can use a variety of fire skills. |
Junah | Junah will be the secondary attacker with the Masked Dancer archetype. Players can count on her to support her allies in the fight. |
Eupha | This character will be part of the fight regardless and players can give her the Summoner Archetype to replenish the health of fellow party members. |
Hulkenberg | Together with the Protagonist and Junah, Hulkenberg can inflict critical damage to Homo Pento with the Wizard Archetype. |
It will take a while to reach the actual boss fight arena and players will likely be plum out of patience by the time they reach Homo Pento. Players can end the fight quickly by using attacks that are effective against it such as Botra and amplify the attack with other Synthesis skills.
The game developers of Metaphor: ReFantazio encourage players to bide their time for worthwhile results.
