Tite Kubo is known for his ability to create some very attractive characters. Some of these alluring characters in Bleach include Yoruichi, Rangiku, Nelliel, Orihime, Tier, and so on. While these characters occupy the thoughts of Bleach fans, not even in their wildest dreams could they have imagined Tite Kubo’s opinion on one of them.
Tite Kubo chose an elder sister-worthy character among the smoking hot women of Bleach, and it’s someone who you could have least expected. Although their boisterous, relatable and carefree attitude might be best suited for a sibling.
Tite Kubo Chooses a Seductive Bleach Beauty to be His Elder Sister
The relationship between siblings is often given importance in Bleach. The prime examples are Rukia and Byakuya, followed by Yoruichi and Yushiro. Even the relationship between Ichigo, Karin and Yuzu was extremely sweet. In an interview with Shonen Jump, Tite Kubo was asked about his own brothers and sisters since siblings are portrayed throughout the manga.
Tite Kubo answered that he is the eldest of three children as he has a younger brother and sister. Next, he was asked if he could choose any Bleach character as a sibling who it would be. Tite Kubo immediately chose Rangiku Matsumoto.
I’d choose Rangiku, I wish she were my older sister. [Laughs] Well, that’s because you can count on her when you’re in trouble.

The interviewer then immediately reminded Kubo that he had previously wanted to be Kon due to his carefree nature. In Bleach, Kon’s encounter with Rangiku does not go well as he gets an upskirt view of her, leading to Rangiku lashing out at Kon violently. The entire episode then shows Rangiku constantly bashing Kon, both verbally and physically.
Is Rangiku Responsible Enough to Be an Elder Sister?
Rangiku is not just one of the most sensual characters in Bleach; she is also extremely adorable. She cares about the feelings of others and shows deep loyalty to Toshiro Hitsugaya, her captain. She tends to be a slacker and hates paperwork, but she is definitely the type of person to adore her younger sibling after getting drunk.
Matsumoto has an extremely carefree and free-spirited personality, which serves as a sharp contrast to Toshiro’s closed-off persona. She encouraged him to enter the Shinigami Academy which proves that she is the type of person to care about others and support them. She might come off as self-centred at times, but in reality, she is very caring and sensitive to the feelings of others.
On multiple occasions, she has helped other Bleach characters sort out their intentions or feelings. She even gave advice to Origime when she was distressed about her role in Ichigo’s life.
She has a very girl-next-door personality as she loves Japanese dancing and enjoys buying lots of clothing from department stores in the human world. She finds free people whenever she wants to drink and invites them over. Just like a rip-off elder sibling, she makes the other person buy drinks so she wouldn’t have to pay for them.
