The name of a member appointed by UGT in the RTVE opposition court appears in the metadata of the leak document | Communication and Media

The name of Julián Pérez Olmos, member appointed by the UGT union in the tribunal of the RTVE oppositions canceled due to an exam leak, appears in the metadata of the document where most of the answers to the written test were found for the position of informant in the corporation. The file in PDF format with four pages to which EL PAÍS has had access is named Wolf. The notes were prepared after the preparation of the final questionnaire carried out by the court on September 26. And the details of that file indicate the name of this member with access to it on September 27, two days before the call for the frustrated oppositions.

EL PAÍS has contacted Julián Pérez Olmos, who denies being the author of said document, nor having had access to it, nor having disseminated it. “I have seen it published in the media. I have no idea why my name appears. I don’t know if they could have manipulated it. They have all identified us, and me with name and surname.”

This newspaper has also contacted RTVE, which is carrying out an internal investigation, to find out if they were aware of the appearance of the name of the member designated by UGT in the metadata of the document with the leaked exam answers. Those responsible assure that checks have been carried out on the same document with which the internal investigation works and they are in the process of “taking measures.”

The RTVE investigation runs parallel to the police investigation, which began with a complaint filed by the corporation on the same day the oppositions were suspended. The communication of that cancellation was carried out through a brief message, arguing “reasons of force majeure”, sent through the internal platform of the opposition three minutes before its celebration at 11 a.m. on September 29, when around 5,000 summoned remained unable to enter the classrooms of the Complutense University campus in Somosaguas (Madrid). In addition, there is another complaint filed by the CC OO union following the events of September 29. The case is in the hands of the UDEF (Economic and Fiscal Crime Unit of the police).

All members of the opposition tribunal (Five of them appointed by the company and another five, by the union sections of UGT, CC OO, SI and USO) resigned the day after the exam was canceled due to the leak. At the moment, the process of creating a new court for the written test for the position of informant is underway, which will be repeated in Madrid on November 2. RTVE announced an ‘anti-filtration plan’ with the election of a president of said court who will be one of the ten members and the only member who knows all the questions. In addition, two questionnaires will be prepared so that one of them functions as a reserve in case the main one is disseminated, something that was not foreseen in the previous call. And the time period between the final preparation of both questionnaires and the holding of the exam will be 24 hours, shortening the printing space of the opposition booklets.

The members of the tribunal for the canceled oppositions appointed by the company were aware of the leak the night before the exam. After informing those responsible for the corporation, the court met at six in the morning the next day. For four and a half hours, a debate continued among the members about the viability of the written test. The summoned opponents waited from 10 a.m. to be able to enter the faculties of the Somosaguas campus enabled for the exam, but they did not know anything until around 10:30 a statement from the USO union reported the existence of a leak and at 10:57 they received the brief message on the internal platform announcing the cancellation of the test.

RTVE made public this Wednesday the booklet with the questions for the canceled exam, a demand from the majority of opponents since the test was suspended. The comparison with the leak document allows us to verify that the vast majority of multiple choice questions were answered in those four pages. The presentation of the questionnaire contained an explanation of the scoring system and how to fill it out with a “pen (blue or black)”. It also included a warning to opponents: “We remind you that if any device rings or vibrates, even inside an envelope, you will have to abandon the test.” None of them entered the classrooms that day.
