UConn unveils national championship rings, gives fans sneak peek at new-look Gampel

Winning a national title comes with some really big things– including some really big rings.

The UConn men’s basketball team got their 2024 national championship rings during a private ceremony on Thursday night, and fans got a look at them on social media.

The team’s account posted photos and videos of the rings, using the hashtag “#Everything,” a reference to the fact that UConn won “everything” it set out to win last season, from the Big East regular season and tournament titles to a second straight national championship.

The coaching staff posed for a photo with the rings:

Not only did UConn give players and coaches a ring honoring the 2024 national title, the Huskies also sprang for a back-to-back ring, which the program says is a first-of-its kind in college athletics.

UConn also gave fans a sneak peek at some of the changes made inside Gampel Pavilion, where a large, new video board was added, along with a giant display showing off the men’s basketball program’s six national titles, 19 Sweet 16s, 13 Elite Eights, seven Final Fours and 34 regular season conference and tournament titles.

The Huskies men’s and women’s teams will take the floor at First Night on Friday, the unofficial start to the season. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a block party outside of Gampel, and the event begins at 7 p.m.
