Judge Juan Carlos Peinado wants to question more witnesses in the open case against Begoña Gómezwife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who is accused of influence peddling and corruption in business. The magistrate has summoned Juan José Güemes, president of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and former advisor of the Community of Madrid during Esperanza Aguirre’s time, to testify.
According to a resolution by the magistrate, to which EL PAÍS had access, Judge Peinado promoted this initiative last Wednesday, the same day that he took a witness statement from Sonsoles Blanca Gil de Antuñano, director of Human Resources at the IE, where Begoña Gómez directed the IE Africa Center.
