The National Police arrested Nikola Vušović this Friday, in the center of Barcelona, a fugitive who has claims from four countries, two of them for murder, possession of weapons and forgery. The suspect was arrested after one in the afternoon, in the center of Barcelona, according to police sources. Of Serbian origin, he is accused of belonging to a criminal organization, which is currently being tried in his country of origin, Serbia.
The arrest of Vušović, also known as Johnny de Vracar either Crazy Johnny, has had a wide impact in its country of origin. The Minister of the Interior, Ivica Dačić, has reported the arrest to the country’s media, in which Serbian police have also participated in coordination with the National Policeas he has said.
A court in Belgrade is currently judging the criminal organization allegedly led by Vušović, who has been on the run from justice since at least 2022. The group is accused of three murders, according to the country’s press, in addition to several other attempts. Likewise, he accuses him of trying to poison a witness, together with the Kavac clan, who intended to collaborate with a police investigation.
During the trial, before learning of his arrest in Barcelona, the fugitive’s lawyer assured that his client’s intention was to surrender to Serbian justice, but with his “own conditions”, according to various media reports. He asked that the international arrest warrant be revoked, and that he himself appear before the court.
