Andrew Garfield Says He Would Break Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Heart and Avoid Her For Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire

Andrew Garfield is a literal sweetheart. Not only is he a chivalrous gentleman to his female co-stars, but he is also incredibly nice to, well, the whole world, perhaps. While his jaw-dropping and commendably emotionally complex performances – like the ones he pulled off as The Amazing Spider-Man – are one thing, he is also super famous for his truly iconic personality.

At the same time, although he is a true gentleman at all times and incredibly loyal, Garfield also knows how to throw people off with his witty comments. That said, he recently told Amelia Dimoldenberg that he would actually break her heart and avoid her for Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire while on a Chicken Shop Date with her, justifying his choice by calling it “flirting”.

When he recently appeared on the Chicken Shop Date with the comedian cum host of the web series, Garfield and Dimoldenberg really sparked some serious chemistry with their sarcastic but friendly and flirty jabs at each other during their “date.” And yet, when it came to choosing between her and his fellow Spider-Men, he actually had to put his chivalry towards the host aside.

During the date, Amelia Dimoldenberg posed a rather hard question for her guest which he failed to realize at first. Initially, when she shot, “Snog, marry, avoid,” the We Live in Time heartthrob came off as confident as he asked the comedian to go on. But he realized that he had actually got himself in a hard position when he heard the options:

“Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Amelia Dimoldenberg.”

To this, Andrew Garfield initially burst out laughing before sighing and saying, “Ah, this is unfair! This is really unfair, you’re turning the screws on me, okay.[Pauses to think] Oh, no, because- God, that’s hard, actually.” But after whining for a bit about it – something Dimoldenberg greatly enjoyed – he finally gave the host an answer. And it wasn’t what she wanted to hear.

While he tried to put off the question by saying, “I don’t want to avoid any of you,” Dimoldenberg was still as firm on her question as ever. Finally, on her persistence, he confessed: “I’m gonna have to avoid you, then.” This earned him an outraged “WHAT?!” from her, but he went on to defend why he chose Tom Holland and Maguire over the person he was on the date with, saying:

‘Cause I can’t do that to either of those guys, [but] I can do it to you! [Dimoldenberg: Are you kidding me?] No, I’m not kidding you, I’m gonna do it to you. This is called flirting, Amelia! This is called flirting. [Laughs]

Hilariously enough, this clip is now making rounds on the internet as fans just can’t get over the bromance Garfield shares with the Spidey before him, Tobey Maguire, and the Spidey after him (who also allowed him to wear the red and blue costume again), Holland. If anything, they’re amused by how his loyalty toward them even had him turning down his own date over them!

But that doesn’t mean he would put women over his bros – even if it’s the woman he is on a date with.
