Police investigating armed robbery at a CT Subway

Police in Cromwell are investigating after a report of an armed robbery at a Subway on Friday evening, police said.

Cromwell police responded to 140 Berlin Road at approximately 7:29 p.m. at a Subway inside a Citgo gas station for a report of an armed robbery, according to police.

Police said two suspects attempted to scam the clerk out of money. When the clerk walked around the counter to confront a man, a woman accomplice reportedly reached over the counter and stole an undetermined amount of cash. During this, the man reportedly pulled out a knife and threatened the clerk. The suspects fled the scene in a newer gold colored Chevy Malibu.

Video of the incident is not readily available and the total amount of cash stolen has yet to be determined, police said.
