There are elevated fire weather concerns across parts of Connecticut Sunday, according to a special weather statement by the National Weather Service.
“Relative humidities of around 25 to 30 percent are expected today across northern Connecticut, along with above normal temperatures and southwest winds between 5 and 10 mph,” the weather service reports.
“When factoring in the recent lack of rainfall, conditions favoring wildfire development are again possible today. Use caution when handling ignition sources.”

Further, Accuweather reports that Sunday will see sunshine and warmth; and “low humidity and dry brush will result in an elevated fire threat.”
Monday will see an usually warm fall day, sunny, with a high near 80, according to the National Weather Service. Calm wind will become southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
Accuweather also reminds us that, “Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. on Nov. 3, 2024, with clocks falling back one hour. For many people, this will mean one extra hour of sleep on the first weekend of the month.”
