Vote for the top Huntsville-area football player of Week 9

Fans can once again cast their vote for their favorite performance from north Alabama high school football action.

Coaches can submit statistics following their games on Friday night or nominate players before noon each Saturday.

Nominations must come from a coach or official team statistician. They can be emailed to [email protected].

Voting is open until Wednesday evening. The winner will be announced on AL.com on Thursday.

Here are the nominees from Week 9:

Parker Turley, Buckhorn: The freshman quarterback threw two touchdown passes in his first start as Buckhorn beat Mae Jemison 23-14 on Thursday night.

Graham Batey, Randolph: Batey ran for more than 200 yards and totaled two touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Madison County; he also added 11 tackles on defense.

Keaton Williams, Sparkman: The quarterback threw for 219 yards to lead Sparkman to a 48-10 blowout of Grissom in a key Class 7A, Region 4 win on Friday.

Charleston Owens, Madison Academy: Owens completed 7-of-8 passes for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 48-7 rout of St. John Paul II.

Key’shun Barnes, Grissom: Barnes intercepted two passes and rushed for 73 yards on four carries in a 48-10 loss to Sparkman on Friday.

J.L. Davis, Austin: The Austin quarterback threw three touchdown passes as the Black Bears won the Class 7A, Region 4 title with a 31-28 win over James Clemens; he threw for touchdowns of 46, 30 and 17 yards out in the victory.

Titan Partlow, West Morgan: Partlow led the Rebels with 243 yards and three touchdowns passing in a 52-26 win over Class 4A, Region 7 foe Central-Florence to claim a part of the region crown.

Jake Jones, Scottsboro: Jones accounted for seven touchdowns, six of which came on the ground, as Scottsboro won a 50-47 shootout against Arab.

Jayden Morris, Hartselle: Morris ran for two touchdowns as Hartselle won its seventh straight game with a 34-21 victory over Jasper.

Logan Anderson, Fyffe: The Clemson commit ran for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries as Fyffe earned the program’s 600th win with a 61-18 rout of Holly Pond.

Drew Puccio, Arab: Puccio ran for 301 yards and seven touchdowns on 23 carries in a 50-47 loss to Scottsboro on Friday. The quarterback also completed eight of his 16 passes for 168 yards and returned five kicks for 78 yards.

Deigo Holt, North Jackson: Holt ran for four touchdowns as North Jackson picked up a key 52-10 win over Westminster Christian on Friday. Holt finished with 154 yards on the ground with his touchdowns covering 13, 3, 20 and 13 yards.

Dax Varnadore, Fort Payne: The quarterback completed 17 of his 22 passing attempts for 354 yards and 5 touchdowns to lead Fort Payne to a 56-29 win over Hazel Green to clinch the Class 6A, Region 8 championship.
