Adams was very clear on the fact that Suits is not a show that had a huge impact on cinema or television. Instead, the actor told Esquire, that Suits was simply the show you would watch when there was nothing else interesting or worthwhile going around in the television space. He said:
But it’s one of those shows that people love to have in between the shows that change television. There’s the show that’s going to change the way I think about art, and life, and myself, and my family, and then there’s the show I just want to watch because I love these people, and they make me feel good.
Patrick J. Adams believed that there was not much that a show like Suits could do when it came to changing how people saw television. It was not comparable to shows like House of Cards, Games of Thrones, House of the Dragon, or even The Sopranos. However, it was something that viewers did not mind binging again and again at the end of a long day to unwind.

All in all, what the actor essentially tried to say is that Suits is not a bland show, but it is a show that is palatable to a large number of audiences, which makes it accessible in a manner that prestige dramas and fantasy series just fail to be all together.
