Morgan Wallen promised that he was bringing “some good friends” to Gulf Shores for his Sand in My Boots festival in spring 2025, and now we know who they are.
The event’s lineup, released Monday, features Wallen, Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, HARDY, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, T-Pain, Diplo, Wiz Khalifa, The War on Drugs, 2 Chainz, Chase Rice, Three 6 Mafia, 3 Doors Down, Ella Langley, ERNEST, Morgan Wade and Moneybagg Yo, among other acts.
Another key piece of news announced Monday: Local residents get the inside track on tickets with a 24-hour presale starting Thursday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. CDT. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CDT Friday, Oct. 25, also via www.sandinmybootsfest.com
Organizers of the Hangout Music Fest announced Oct. 17 that something different was coming to Gulf Shores May 16-18 thanks to a new partnership with Wallen, who has released two record-setting, blockbuster country albums in recent years. They described Sand in My Boots as a one-year takeover of Hangout Fest, an event that would use the same site and involve the same festival producers, but would feature a three-day lineup curated by Wallen.
This caused some concern among Hangout Fest fans that the festival as they knew it was dead. Hangout Festival Producer Reeves Price of AEG Presents said that Hangout “isn’t going anywhere and will return to Gulf Shores in 2026.”
“Partnering with Morgan Wallen on the Sand in My Boots Festival in 2025 is an incredibly special opportunity, and we’re excited to bring his vision to life,” said Price.
The lineup announced Monday backs up the promise of a multi-genre event. It does feature a much larger country component than any previous Hangout Fest, but some of the acts listed would have fit nicely in any Hangout lineup. Some on the schedule are Hangout veterans – the prime example being Post Malone, who was the opening-day headliner in 2022. Since then Malone has made an extremely successful shift from pop into country with the album “F-1 Trillion,” featuring “I Had Some Help,” a hit single duet with Wallen.
Rapper T-Pain performed at Hangout in 2022 as well. Wiz Khalifa was there back in 2014 and 2 Chainz appeared in 2017. Electronic dance music DJ Diplo has been featured at least twice, in 2019 and 2024. He’s also part of the ensemble Major Lazer, which appeared in 2015 and 2017. Indie pop band Future Islands is another act making a return to Gulf Shores.
Organizers say the acts all are “hand-picked from Wallen’s personal playlist” and that “Wallen is bringing together artists from across genres to perform on the same lineup for the first time, breaking barriers while ensuring that fans can expect the unexpected with surprise artist collaborations all weekend long.”
