State police ID woman and man killed in fiery crash in Burlington

State police have identified the two Bristol residents killed a recent fiery crash in Burlington.

Emergency services responded to a fatal crash and fire near 61 Johnnycake Mountain Road around 11:30 p.m. on Oct, 12, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said a Ford Taurus was traveling north when it veered into the right shoulder, hit a mailbox and became fully engulfed in fire.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the female driver as 39-year-old Tiffany M. Cormier of Bristol and the male passenger as 59-year-old Russell Bunn of Bristol. The two were pronounced dead on the scene by Burlington Paramedic, according to state police.

The next of kin have been notified, state police said.

The Connecticut State Police’s Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad is conducting the ongoing investigation.
