Do You Even Know About Robert Downey Jr’s Screentime in Infinity War? Pedro Pascal’s Screentime Issue in Gladiator 2 is Blown Out of Proportion

Fans often have a lot to complain about when it comes to their favorite actors. Whether it is their favorites not winning an award or being grilled by the media, much more ends up being a huge point of contention. And as far as Pedro Pascal is concerned, recently his fans have been alarmed at the ‘short’ screen time he has in the upcoming film, Gladiator 2.

While it might seem short to some, the whole drama has been blown out of proportion, if we compare his screen time with some other movies. As fans complain, they fail to realize that even the great Robert Downey Jr. had less screen time in the blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War.

Pedro Pascal’s Gladiator 2 Screen Time Worries Fans

After years and years and years of waiting, Ridley Scott is back with a sequel to his Oscar-winning film, Gladiator. Starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and more, the epic will follow the story of Lucius and how he becomes a gladiator following the Roman invasion.

While Mescal will be in the lead, starring as Lucius, Pascal will portray Marcus Acacius, a general who trained under Maximus and ends up becoming a gladiator as well. Although fans have some high expectations from the film, given Scott’s genius for cinematic scenes and high-end graphics, many of them are left worried by the screen time Pascal has in the film.

One of the main draws for fans to watch the film, the Last of Us star has a total of 20 minutes of screen time in Gladiator 2. A screen time that is surprisingly more than Iron Man’s 18 minutes in Avengers: Infinity War, Darth Vader’s 12 minutes in A New Hope, Thor’s 14 minutes in Infinity War, etc.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Screen Time in Avengers: Infinity War

Robert Downey Jr. is one of the most significant reasons why the Marvel Cinematic Universe exists. Yet, when it comes to his screen time in the blockbuster Infinity War, the actor only had a screen time of over 18 minutes in total. Although shocking, it was still more compared to the rest of the Avengers.

While Chris Hemsworth’s Thor was on the screen for 14 minutes, Dr Stange got 11:30 minutes, while Steve Rogers only had 6:45 minutes. Yet despite the short screen time, we can safely say that each character stood out, creating unforgettable experiences.

As fans complain about screen time, the MCU is not the only franchise that has had this less screen time for some of their biggest stars. Most recently, in the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One, the Kaiju only had a screen time of 10 minutes, so when it comes to 20 minutes of Pedro Pascal in Gladiator 2, it seems more than enough.

And a good and talented actor doesn’t need screen time to make an impact for only a handful of seconds are enough for them to convince fans that they are an actor worthy of attention and praise.

Gladiator 2 will be in theatres on November 22, 2024.
