That’s not all. On the same day, the game’s second and final expansion, The Lake House, will be released, setting up the game’s perfect one-year anniversary. In the DLC, players will be able to control FBC agent Kiran Estevez, witnessing the true horror side of Alan Wake 2 as players explore Lake House, a Federal Bureau of Control-run research facility.

Remedy Entertainment Announced An Anniversary Update For Alan Wake 2

In an official post on Alan Wake‘s website, Remedy Entertainment announced a special update to celebrate the first anniversary of Alan Wake 2. This update doesn’t exactly feature fresh content but it brings various updates that will improve the overall gaming experience.

Players have been eagerly asking Remedy to give them the option to invert the X (horizontal) axis on the mouse and controller, and not just the Y (vertical) axis. The community’s prayers have been heard as this update will allow players to do so.

Only PlayStation fans will be able to experience these next series of updates as Remedy has made some improvements to the DualSense controller. The game only had haptics support for weapons, but haptics will now also work with healing items and throwables. Plus, gyro aiming support will be added with the update. Finally, the update will also add a Gameplay Assist menu full of different accessibility options.

All players will be able to download the anniversary update for free on 22nd October 2024.

Along with the anniversary update, a special expansion called The Lake House will also be released for Alan Wake 2 on 22nd October. The second update comes four months after the first DLC, Night Springs, and is all set to feature a brand new location, The Lake House.

While playing Alan Wake 2, many players came across FBC warning signs in Cauldron Lake as well as a chain link fence preventing entrance to one specific location. Well, it turns out that it was The Lake House, a Federal Bureau of Control-run research facility. As FBC agent Kiran Estevez, players will explore the Lake House.

In another official post, Remedy revealed that the update will add a new weapon, but that’s not the only new thing. In the Lake House, players will also come across a new gruesome enemy. It has been also confirmed that the update will expand the Remedy Connected Universe and also prove to be a treat for fans of the Control franchise.

The Lake House DLC will be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on 22nd October 2024. Are you excited about the update? Share your views in the comments!
