Victim of deadly September hit-and-run identified, police looking for suspect

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are looking for a suspect who was involved in a fatal crash on the Ed Bluestein Service Road last month. The suspect left the scene without stopping or calling 911, according to the Austin Police Department.

APD said the crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 7400 block of Ed Bluestein Boulevard Service Road NB, and it happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

That area is near the intersection of Ed Bluestein and Manor Road.

The pedestrian, who APD identified as Frank Ramos, 43, was pronounced dead on the scene. 

APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s help locating the suspect.

The suspect vehicle was described as a 2013 or 2014 Chrysler 200 in an unknown color, with possible damage to the front passenger side and a broken front passenger side headlight, according to APD. Police shared the below stock images for reference.
