Montgomery Academy volleyball seemed invincible.
The Class 6A top-ranked Eagles had lost only three times this season — twice to Class 7A top-ranked McGill-Toolen and once to Mississippi power Brandon — and hadn’t dropped a set since a 3-1 win over Class 7A third-ranked Hoover. Montgomery Academy won 112 sets while losing only eight and producing a 49-3 record heading into AHSAA South Super Regional play on Wednesday at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl MultiPlex.
