Despite Owning a $14 Billion Empire, Ryan Reynolds Still Struggles to Do 1 Thing as It Gives Him a “Terrible feeling”

It doesn’t seem that Ryan Reynolds can do anything wrong, whether it be putting the MCU back on the map with one of the biggest hits of the year or being a shrewd businessman. The actor, who turns 48 today, has built a massive $14B empire, thanks to his endeavors in the realm of showbiz and businesses, in addition to being the co-owner of Wrexham AFC.

But despite excelling at so many fronts, the Deadpool star is not a fan of writing, which is surprising, given his history in the field.

Reynolds’ career in Hollywood transcends his acting chops, as apart from producing many of his flicks, the actor has had a lot of writing credits under his belt, especially in recent years. One of the most notable examples is Deadpool & Wolverine, as on top of serving as a producer, the Free Guy star was also credited on the writing front.

However, this isn’t the most enjoyable aspect of the movie business for Ryan Reynolds, who confessed to hating writing, especially when it comes to starting out.

I f-cking hate writing. It’s the worst. Every time I sit in front of a blank screen, watching that flashing cursor, it’s terrible. I mean, it’s an uptown problem, but it’s a terrible feeling.

But this isn’t to say he hates the entire process, as Reynolds expressed he enjoys writing when he is “in the middle of it.”

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy writing when I’m in the middle of it, I just absolutely loathe starting. Ugh, it’s the worst.

As for his secret behind overcoming this hurdle, the Deadpool star revealed his Aviation gin helps him get through the beginning part.

Interestingly, Reynolds’ writing ventures aren’t limited to his own works. During her red carpet appearance for It Ends With Us, Blake Lively revealed that her husband penned one of the most pivotal scenes in the flick. This is pretty on par with the Marvel star, as Lively added that “he works on everything I do” and vice versa.

The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that but you know. We help each other. He works on everything I do; I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his.

Considering his struggles with writing, the Deadpool & Wolverine star’s determination to pen stories is admirable.

It Ends With Us is available to rent on Apple TV.
