Bankinter reported a profit of 731 million in the first nine months of the year, 7% more than in the same period of the previous year. These are their best results between January and September, if 2021 is excluded, when the bank earned 1,250.6 million from the capital gain of almost 900 million that was then recorded by the spin-off of LÃnea Directa to take it public.. However, the year-on-year improvement in results pales in comparison to the 60% increase in profit that was recorded in the same period last year, in a context of interest rate cuts by the European Central Bank (ECB).
The interest margin, thus, increased by 5%, to 1,728 million, although the growth in the bank’s business is supported by the increase in fee income, which totals 14%, to 521 million. The gross margin reached 2,151 million, 7%, while costs also increased (6%) to 745 million.
