Daisy Ridley’s Jarring Experience After Her 1st Star Wars Film Could Disturb Even the Strong-minded

Surely we can all admit that Daisy Ridley captured our hearts as Rey in the Star Wars movies she appeared in. In the wake of a potential new film that Disney+ will be working on, the 32-year-old actress has been making a few appearances here and there to spill some tea on her life and the upcoming project.

In her latest interview with Josh Horowitz, Ridley, who has also worked on incredible projects like Young Woman and the Sea and The Murder on the Orient Express, spoke about a small issue she had after filming her first Star Wars film.

We’ve all heard several actors talk about the relationships they’ve built on set and how sometimes parting ways after the project concludes makes them emotional. For example, we all remember the emotional final table read of the iconic Modern Family. It certainly left most of us in tears or with a sense of sadness within.

Daisy Ridley had a similar experience after filming her first Star Wars movie in 2015. While speaking to Josh Horowitz, our beloved Rey said she felt extremely sad when her work on the set of Star Wars: The Forces Awakens came to an end. She said,

When you’ve been with people every day for six [to] seven months and you’ve really seen the people at work more than you’ve seen your own family, I remember being so blue after the first one was done because there’s so much space all of a sudden.

Ridley went on to elaborate on how having a set schedule at work, particularly in the movie business is “comforting” because you’d get to see the same faces at a set time of your day or week. Understandably, that takes away the pain of knowing things won’t ever be the same between you and your former co-stars that you’ve bonded with.

Most of us are probably aware that Disney has been working on a sequel to Star Wars: Episode XI – The Rise of Skywalker, which Daisy Ridley might lead. Unfortunately, the project has reportedly hit a roadblock that could delay the entire process and extend its release date.

Variety confirmed that one of the project’s writers, Steven Knight stepped down from his role recently. Knight stepped in to serve as a writer for the film when its previous writers, Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson walked away.

With regards to director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s upcoming Star Wars film storyline, there isn’t any clue as to what it’ll be about. However, Ridley teased her fans after she told PEOPLE only one person knew about her role in the film, her husband Tom Bateman.

However, she’s extremely excited to work on another Star Wars project, especially since she claims she will be working with a cast and crew she dearly loves. Besides that, she was sworn to secrecy regarding the upcoming film (via PEOPLE). It seems like Disney is trying its best to keep things on the down low.
