Soon, they started making public appearances and debuted as a couple at the 2002 premiere of their movie.

Following this, the duo got married in 2005, and Bullock seemed genuinely happy with her relationship. However, soon after five years in 2010, she was left completely shocked when James’ infidelity came to light.

Sandra Bullock was so in love with Jesse James, the same which even the viewers could make out in her several interviews. But the worst nightmare of her life was just around the corner and absolutely crumbled her relationship with the Monsters Garage host. In 2010, several women came forward to claim that they had affairs with James while he was married to Bullock.
Not only this, but at least four of them publicly shared their stories, with one revealing that their affair continued up until the news of his infidelity came out in the open. Another one mentioned that she was not aware that he was married at the time of their involvement. These accusations also came at the time when Bullock was having one of the best years of her career.
She was receiving wide acclaim for The Blind Side (eventually winning an Oscar) but had to cancel several of her promotional events due to the scandal. Even after such a big controversy, Jesse James was not done when, during an ABC News interview, he reflected on his scandal and added “I think I wanted to get caught.” Further, while his actions were objectionable, he suggested that he did what he did as an attempt to self-sabotage. Just a year after his separation from the actress, James had already moved on with Kat Von D.
When the host inquired on the same and asked him if his moving on so quickly might have hurt Bullock. To this, he responded, “I think it’s time to worry about Jesse and making sure Jesse’s happy,” and that he had already spent years focusing on Bullock and her needs. And now that it was time to look out for his own needs and happiness.
This was not enough, but throughout the years he continued to talk about the scandal, and in 2017, one of his statements shocked everyone. During an interview with The Daily Mail, he added “In general, both women and men cheat. It’s part of life.” While this statement received major backlash online, James remained unapologetic for his behavior.
