2 men dead in Montgomery shooting early Friday morning

Two Montgomery men were shot and killed early Friday morning in the city, authorities said.

Montgomery police and fire medics responded to the 500 block of North Eastern Boulevard around 1:57 a.m. Friday on a report of people shot, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

The victims, identified as Montgomery residents Jeroderick Bell, 29, and 30-year-old Devin Ligon, sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds, said Coleman.

The men were taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident involving people who knew each other.
