Corner’s defense completed a goal-line stand at the buzzer, completing a 31-30 comeback victory over Carver-Birmingham to clinch the first region title in school history.
After Corner’s Bradley Turner made a 22-yard field goal with 3:48 to go to make it 31-30, Carver drove 66 yards to the Corner 1. Carver quarterback DeJarvis Wade’s long scramble – on third-and-goal from the 20 – put the ball at the 1 in the final minute.
