Chappell Roan Bravely Calling Out a Photographer For Yelling at Her is Why She’s Not Like Other Celebs

Ever since blowing up earlier this year, Chappell Roan has become known for her infectious pop anthems and unapologetic authenticity. From calling out obsessive fans to even a former teacher, the 26-year-old has been vocal about the problems she’s faced throughout the course of her career and even her life. Most recently, the Pink Pony Club star made headlines for something other than her music.

During a recent event, Roan stood up for herself in a way that resonated deeply with fans and onlookers. A video circulating online captured the singer confronting a photographer who had been yelling at her, and her response proved to be a reminder of why she’s not like other celebrities.

In the last few months, Chappell Roan has given her fans insight into her mental health woes. After all, her sudden rise to fame has thrown her in the spotlight and left her feeling rather overwhelmed. Although the pop star has been vocal about what she likes and doesn’t, it looks like some people just can’t seem to take a hint.

During a red carpet for Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS Tour movie premiere, the 26-year-old was yelled at by photographers who wanted her to strike a pose. However, one of them seemed to take it too far. In a post on X, Roan could be seen confronting a paparazzo for his rude behavior at the Grammys.

You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys. You yelled at me at the Grammy party. Yes, I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that.

The interaction proved that Roan was not against calling out photographers on their past behavior. She even went on to demand an apology stating, “You need to apologize to me.” Her reaction sent her fans cheering.

One user on X even stated, “She ate so bad you could never make me hate her.” Another fan also wrote, “Y’all hate to see a woman stand on business and not wanting to be disrespected. Good for her!”

After all, Roan has made it abundantly clear that she likes her space and wants to live a rather normal life. Unfortunately, even some of her fans haven’t been able to wrap their heads around it.

Chappell Roan put her obsessive fans on blast

After performing at Coachella this year, Chappell Roan has slowly been becoming a household name. Although the singer had been singing since she was only 17 years old, it looks like she is still just getting used to dealing with fans and their rather insane antics. Just last month, she addressed how uncomfortable some of her fans were making her feel.

In a post on X, the 26-year-old ended up sharing her increasing frustration with her fans. Roan’s breakdown came after her so-called fans went out of their way to stalk and harass both her and her family online and in person.

If you saw a random woman on the street, would you yell at her from your car window? Would you harass her in public? Would you go up to a random lady and say, ‘Can I take a photo with you?’ and she says ‘No, what the fuck?’ and then you get mad at this random lady? Would you stalk her family? Would you follow her around? Would you try to dissect her life and bully her online? This is a lady you don’t know, and she doesn’t know you at all.

Roan was evidently shaken by her fans’ “creepy behavior.” After all, she had just broken into the music industry and expected people to understand boundaries. Unfortunately, some of them didn’t. She ended her rant with some food for thought by adding, “I’m a random bitch, you’re a random bitch. Just think about that for a second, OK?”

The situation with her fans sent Roan spiraling. It even led to her canceling her festival appearances for September. Although the star has proved she can handle herself, the spotlight has taken quite a toll on her mental health.
