Double shooting in CT leaves one person in critical condition

Police are investigating after a double shooting in Ansonia early Saturday morning, officials said.

Ansonia police responded to the Saint Sebastian Club, 130 Father Salemi Dr., around 2:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Officers first to arrive on scene found a 27-year-old Ansonia man that had been shot multiple times in the torso. The man was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition, police said.

During the course of the investigation, a second man was found with gunshot wounds to the buttocks. The man, a 26-year-old Ansonia resident, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers initially responded to the location around 2 a.m. for a disturbance, where they found a party that ended when unknown parties began to fight, police said. But the people involved in the initial disturbance left the scene before officers’ arrival. Officers left the area before the shooting occurred injuring the two Ansonia residents, according to police.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact the police department at 203-735-1885 or leave an anonymous tip  at Tip411 at the link https://www.tip411.com/tips/new?alert_group_id=21553
