There’s not necessarily a best weapon

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is one of the most criticized games in the Black Ops series of COD. The single-player narrative of this 2020-released Treyarch title is set in 1981, and centers on CIA agent Russell Adler and his team as they pursue a Soviet spy named Perseus.

Black Ops titles have always been a little bit different from Modern Warfare titles. Be it the arcade-y storyline, licensed music, different art style, or distinct weapons, Black Ops has always felt divergent from other COD titles. And there is one aspect of the game for which the developers have managed to maintain the uniqueness of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Had Great Weapon Balance

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has always been a distinct title in the franchise, be it for its faster gameplay or more arcade-y style of play. But there is one unique aspect of the game that makes it different than others, and that is striking weapon balance. In an interview with GameCentral, this is what the lead designer of the game, Tony Flame, had to say about it:

We’re always looking to strike a certain tone with Black Ops – as fun and epic as possible, while staying balanced and fair – all while playing in the shadows of ‘the history you thought you knew’. For the multiplayer experience that all starts with our weapon balance. We’ve always focused very heavily on making sure that every weapon is relevant for different playstyles, so players never feel like they can’t compete and there’s not necessarily a best weapon.

Talking about other facts that make Cold War different from others is its map designs. The game’s map design actually funnels players into fun engagements with just enough options, but not too many. The map design leads players into the game’s combat design, which is created to push the action. The game provides counterplay as well for players who are too stationary.

A good player will always choose to attack rather than defend, and the defense is not very strong. That’s what Black Ops gameplay is all about when you add it all up. In addition, the developers had improved the overall experience by creating a Scorestreak system that is more user-friendly and features some amazing new content that hasn’t even been seen yet.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Is Also Different from other COD Title

When you are talking about the Black Ops series, then how can you forget about the recently launched Call of Duty: Black Ops 6? This game is different from any other game in the entire franchise for one good reason, and that is the overhauled movement mechanics. For the first time in the franchise, Treyarch has introduced a new movement type called Omni-movement. But what is it?

This is a brand new movement mechanic that will allow you to sprint, slide, dive, or go prone in any direction, no matter which direction you want to go, even backward as well. Not only that, you will also be able to slide in the direction you jumped in when landing from a jump. So, basically, you can move literally however you want.

For example, with this new movement style, you can make your own movement combos to dodge the bullets of your enemies, like quick back paddles, fast side strafes, or successive jumps, slides, and jumps that too in different directions each time.
