University of Alabama Alabama sororities delivered the goods once again with this year’s homecoming lawn decorations, using the theme “New Era, Same Standard” and letting legendary Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban officially pass the torch to Kalen DeBoer.
The decorations remain a popular fixture during homecoming week, and they seem to only get better each year.
After nights of intense pomping, the results are in — and Alabama football fans should love the designs, many of them realized in sharp detail.
Saban, DeBoer, Jalen Milroe, Paul “Bear” Bryant and Big Al were (as usual) prominently featured, along with the theme “New Era, Same Standard.”
The sorority used pop culture imagery like album covers (”Abbey Road,” “Dark Side of the Moon”), along with campus favorites like the student newspaper The Crimson White and gameday buttons.
Ahead of the annual pep rally, bonfire and homecoming queen announcement, fans and alumni strolled along the sidewalks outside the UA Panhellenic sorority houses Friday afternoon to catch a glimpse at the work, a day before the Tide shut out Missouri 34-0 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
