Recently, he shared his thoughts about the U.S. presidential choices, specifically regarding the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. 

He wasn’t one to hold back and used his influence and platforms to urge voters to consider what might happen if they voted for either one of the candidates. He didn’t mince his words, instead, he weighed in on the outcome of the presidency under either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.

At a recent rally, Mark Ruffalo was asked about his views on the current election by CBS News’ political reporter, Aaron Navarro. He gave a thoughtful response and first acknowledged that “there’s no perfect candidate right now,” to make it clear that he does not feel strongly about the stance of both candidates. 

“We know what Trump will do,” Rufallo stated and added that Trump has a track record that would most likely “sell out the Arabs,” and his sentiment clearly shows that he is skeptical about Donald Trump’s fair resolution to the Middle Eastern conflict. So naturally, he voiced his support in favor of Kamala Harris. 

“Our chances of changing her positions inside the White House are better than they’ll ever be with Trump,” he explained. His comments would resonate with many who aspire to take a more hopeful and compassionate approach when it comes to the Israel-Palestine issues, especially in times when tensions are high in the region. 

Kamala Harris’ Approach to the Israel-Palestine Conflict

Harris has voiced her support for Israel’s right to defend itself, but she has also expressed empathy towards the Palestinians who are suffering in this conflict. “Let me be clear, I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself,” she stated and also acknowledged the “heartbreaking” situation of people who are suffering in Gaza (via The Week). 

Moreover, she has encouraged Israel to negotiate and ceasefire, in hopes of alleviating the torment of Gazan civilians. Even though critics have argued that her stance is an attempt to balance the two sides, Harris’ supporters are adamant in believing that she could offer a path to constructive dialogue and possibly resolution. Ruffalo also echoed this hope and said:

She is the only one who’s held, created a different kind of language around the Palestinian suffering, different than Biden.

So, the candidate’s call for dignity and her self-determination for Palestinians has resonated with numerous otters in America, especially the ones who are in favor of a humane approach.
