Car dealership reopens after fire in service department

Car dealership reopens after fire in service department

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (WKBN) – A local car dealership is back open for business after a fire ripped through its service department on Friday night.

Spitzer Chevrolet in North Jackson says the fire started with a vehicle in one of its service bays just before 7 p.m.

Fortunately, no one was hurt and firefighters quickly put out the flames.

Still, it left a big mess. Since then, they’ve been working to reorganize the service department.

Spitzer Chevrolet is open now, with no disruptions to customers.

“We lost the four bays in the back but we had four quick lube bays, and then we were expanding across the street with more service bays. Well now, we just jumped the gun a little bit and we have our quick lube across the street, moved our four bays from the back up to the front, and we’re up and running already,” said Barry Gonis, general manager.

The cause of the fire has still not been determined.
