LOGAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Cincinnati man who was stopped last year by troopers with two pounds of methamphetamine in his SUV was sentenced.
James Toran, 48, pleaded guilty in Hocking County Common Pleas Court last month to an amended indictment of aggravated possession, a fifth-degree felony; and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
He was sentenced to three years in prison, with credit for 357 days served.
Toran was pulled over in October 2023 on U.S. 33 in Hocking County for a window tint violation. Troopers searched Toran’s SUV and said they found two pounds of methamphetamine worth about $6,000 in a plastic container on the passenger floorboard. Some of the suspected drugs looked like candy.
