On the night of December 27, 1999, Jennifer Lopez, Diddy, and their crew were living it up at a New York club when suddenly, they heard gunshots, it was later found out that it injured three people. Although Diddy and JLo made a quick exit, they were later arrested alongside Bad Boy artist Moses Barrow aka Shyne.
While Lopez was cleared of any charges, Diddy and Shyne weren’t so lucky. Diddy was acquitted in the 2001 trial, but Shyne however was sentenced to prison. Amidst all the drama, JLo decided to end her relationship with Diddy. When asked how he felt about her leaving him during such a time, Diddy remained gracious in The New Yorker interview, saying nothing negative about his ex. But his friend? He had a different story to tell.

Was Jennifer Lopez Really Disloyal to Diddy?
Later, reflecting on her time with Diddy, JLo opened up about the toll the relationship took on her.
In an interview with Vibe magazine (via Entertainment Weekly), the Jenny from the Block singer shared some horrifying details, admitting how challenging it was. She said,
It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful, I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy, and going nuts, it really took my whole life in a tailspin.I never caught him but I just knew, He’d say he was going to a club for a couple of hours and then never come back that night.
However, Diddy later admitted that letting go of JLo wasn’t easy. Reportedly, he would even hang around her trailer, hoping to win her back, and leaned on therapy to help him through the emotional rollercoaster. Whatever the case, it was clear the two clearly weren’t meant to last.
