In episode 4 of Dragon Ball DAIMA, Goku comes into a little store that sells a range of local “Medi Bugs” while exploring the Demon Realm. With varieties like Beaut Bugs for smoother skin, Achichi Bugs for burns, and Revive Bugs that restore stamina similar to Senzu Beans; they all initially appear harmless. But the real gem of this store is the Join Bugs, a newer fusion technique that Goku got to learn about.
According to the shopkeeper, warriors can merge by simply consuming one of the Join Bugs. But here’s the catch: it works differently than earlier fusion methods. What distinguishes these bugs from others is that they enable more than two warriors to unite into a single, potent entity. This distinction gives Goku and his allies more tactical options in addition to increasing Fusion’s adaptability.
In Dragon Ball DAIMA, where power levels are significantly lower than in previous Dragon Ball arcs, the Z-Warriors face formidable enemies like Gomah. The Join Bugs could provide the edge they need to turn the tide, making them invaluable for future battles in the Demon Realm.

One of the known limitations of the Fusion Dance is that both participants must have similar power levels and body sizes. Potara Earrings are less restrictive, but they still require specific conditions. Join Bugs, on the other hand, could appear to bypass size restrictions entirely; allowing fighters of different builds and power levels to fuse seamlessly.
With the arrival of Join Bugs, Dragon Ball DAIMA has redefined the potential of fusion, making Gogeta and Vegito look like relics of the past.
