Azealia Banks claimed back in 2018 that she spent a bizarre weekend at Elon Musk’s house. She was supposed to work with Grimes for a new track, but it ultimately never happened. The rapper posted updates on her social media account about spending her days alone in the tech mogul’s home while the singer was reportedly ignoring her.
Musk, on the other hand, denied the claims and revealed he has never met Banks or even spoken to her. The latter said Grimes invited her to fly out to Los Angeles and stay at Musk’s house to finish their collaboration, but things got a little weird after Banks started posting a series of weird Instagram stories.
Azealia Banks Allegedly Spent Days Alone at Elon Musk’s House
Some screenshots from Azealia Banks’ social media platform had been shared by Daily Mail, and in one of the images, the rapper said she had been sitting in Elon Musk’s house alone and waiting for Grimes to work on their supposed collaboration. She said she didn’t know when the latter would come back.
An update was shared by W Magazine and Banks addressed the topic that she was “holding her[self] hostage” by explaining that Grimes did not only invite her to come over but she was allegedly “had been begging her to come for weeks and weeks, all while telling her that Musk found her attractive.” Through her series of posts on social media, Banks believed the ex-couple might have had other motives for allegedly inviting her over other than the collaboration. “It was probably some weird threesome s*x sh*t to begin with,” she wrote.
Musk told Gizmodo via Twitter’s direct message that he “has never even met [Banks] or communicated with her in any way.” A Tesla representative also told the outlet’s sister site that Banks’ claims were “complete nonsense.”
Grimes, on the other hand, reignited her alleged feud with the rapper in 2021 after revealing that she was the inspiration behind her unreleased track 100% Tragedy. In a Discord chat, she revealed it was about “having to defeat azealia banks when she tried to destroy my life.”
It truly did seem like something serious happened between Banks and Grimes, but the former is also known for making wild and unproven claims against celebrities so it’s difficult to find out the truth.
Azealia Banks Penned an Apology to Elon Musk
In the same year, Banks issued a public apology to Musk via Instagram story. The 33-year-old singer-songwriter wrote, “I feel terrible about everything. I guess I can start apologizing for all of the painful events you’ve endured over the past week,” she said, and later on admitted that her actions might have only made him feel worse.
At the time, Musk was also facing a certain crisis after being subpoenaed by the SEC and the strain in his relationship with Grimes. Banks said that she had no plans of using the information she learned about him during the time she was liaising work with his ex-partner against him.
