LENNON MILLER is fast becoming Scottish football’s hottest property.

And it’s going to take a record-breaking transfer fee for Motherwell to even think about selling their teenage sensation.

Miller, who only turned 18 in August, has established himself as the Fir Park’s main man.

With more than 50 first team appearances under his belt already, the youngster has captained Well this season.

Miller has been a standout in the Scottish Premiership and has been touted for a major transfer.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Miller, son of former Scotland striker Lee.

That includes both Celtic and Rangers.

According to the Daily Mail, both Old Firm clubs are weighing up a January move for Miller, who is under contract at Motherwell until 2026.

As of yet, neither club has made an approach, according to the report.

Earlier this week, new Fir Park chief Kyrk Macmillan insisted that the club wanted to keep Miller for as long as possible.

And if they do get firm offers, then they aren’t willing to let him go on the cheap.

The report claims that Well will be looking for a fee that will shatter their transfer record, eclipsing the £3million Celtic paid for David Turnbull more than four years ago.

It says that Motherwell will demand at least £4m for their star man – and won’t entertain anything less.

A number of English clubs have also been linked with a swoop for Miller, with Premier League leaders Liverpool the latest.

Amid the seemingly ever-increasing transfer talk, Well chairman Macmillan broke rank yesterday to issue a hands off warning.

He told Sky Sports: “Lennon’s done incredibly well since he came into the first team, obviously he’s now captain of the club over the last couple of matches, did it at Hampden as well for the semi-final.

“I think ultimately it’s about Lennon’s growth journey and we want him to stay at Motherwell as long as possible.

“It’s great watching him every Saturday, he gets supporters excited and people are really excited to engage with him and his journey in football.

“There may come a time where Lennon decides, ‘I want to try something new in another environment’, but ultimately we want to make his time at Motherwell as successful as it can be.

“That is who we are as a football club and that will be the same for Lennon as it will be, hopefully, for other players in the future as well.”

Miller featured for Scotland’s under-19 side last night in a European Championship qualifier.

But it didn’t go well for the Scots who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wales.
