Police said that Gary Sim, 53, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was pronounced dead.
Officers said that inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.

Mr Sim was from the local area.
The road was closed for investigations following the crash and reopened at around 7.50am on Sunday November 10.
