A THRIFTY man has wowed social media users with his epic bathroom makeover on the cheap.
Sprucing up your loo can be a pretty expensive project, especially if you’re looking to replace the existing walls – depending on the size you’re working with, a 2m x 2m bathroom might cost around £2,600 to tile, while a 3m x 3m bathroom might set you back around £3,450 and so on.

However, as cash-strapped Brits are on the lookout for purse-friendly DIY transformations, one man, Krzystof Blach, has revealed how he gave his dull bathroom a new look spending just £12 in the process.
What’s more, not only did the DIY fanatic slash the costs and achieved a jaw-dropping result, the method also didn’t involve any drilling – which means anyone could do it.
The secret behind the epic glow-up? Self-adhesive tiles.
Stick-on tiles, also known as peel-and-stick tiles, are self-adhesive, making them an ideal choice for those who prefer a quick and easy installation.
Typically made from vinyl, these tiles have become all the rage on social media as they’re also a more budget-friendly option than their regular counterparts.
With their adhesive backing, all you need to do is peel away the paper, position the tiles on a flat surface, and press the sheet down to secure it in place.
Additionally, their ability to be easily removed without damaging the wall underneath makes them an excellent option for those renting or on the lookout for temporary upgrades.
Just make sure to fill in any existing grout lines and ensure a level surface for the best results.
However, as with practically everything in life, the viral tiles also have their cons – peel-and-stick tiles may be more vulnerable to water damage in areas like the kitchen backsplash, where gaps between tiles can allow moisture to seep in.
All chuffed with the gorgeous makeover, the cash-savvy man took to the DIY On a Budget group on Facebook where he proudly showed off the updated bathroom.
”PVC tiles 12£ from eBay self-adhesive. Strong glue, looks better then wallpaper,” Krzystof wrote in the caption of the post.
The thrifty bloke also shared a link where you can order the tiles – available in a range of neutral shades, the tiles measure at 11.8in x 23.6in and will set you back £11.88 each for a ten-pack.
For extra savings, shoppers can order two packs – and enjoy a little price cut, with each tile slashed to £10.69.
