Sofia Richie confessed her 5-month-old daughter, Eloise, already has her own phone that she uses to communicate with people, including her mom’s close friend Jake Shane.
Shane joked on his “Therapuss” podcast Wednesday that Eloise was “fighting” with him over text while interviewing Richie, who lovingly referred to the host as her baby’s “guncle” aka gay uncle.
“Eloise has a little baby phone,” Shane, 25, said, to which Richie, 26, confirmed, “She does!”
The influencer explained that he texts Eloise daily “good morning” messages, but the model usually responds on behalf of her daughter.
“Whoever is with Eloise gets the phone,” Richie shared.
However, Shane’s typically sweet messages with Eloise took a turn when Richie’s longtime friend Ali Meller took the phone and sent some sassy texts as the infant.
“I said, ‘Eloise, do you mind if me and your mommy talk about how perfect you are on the podcast today?’ And she said, ‘No. Keep my name out of your mouth,’” Shane said while they both cracked up laughing.
Shane replied to the text, “Eloise, are you serious?” to which he got a message that read, “I hate you.”
“Eloise has a little bit of an attitude!” he quipped on the show.
Richie jokingly agreed and said she had a “talking” with her daughter.
Elsewhere in the episode, the new mom gushed about how her life has changed since giving birth to her first child with her husband, Elliot Grange, earlier this year.
“For me, my life makes sense now,” she shared. “I’ve never loved anything more in my life, and I’m obsessed with her. She’s perfect. And, I’ve lost 50 pounds, so that happened!”
Richie also revealed some of her nicknames for the little one, including Bug, Ella Bean, Ella Bug and Ellie. Meanwhile, Grange, 31, calls their daughter Chuck Chuck.
The socialite, whose dad is Lionel Richie, welcomed Eloise on May 20.
Sofia previously went into detail over her delivery difficulties and discussed being hospitalized for preeclampsia, which is characterized by high blood pressure, two days after giving birth.
“I went home, and I blew up like a balloon. Quite literally, just swelled,” she said on the “She MD” podcast last month. “I felt very ill.”
The fashion designer later checked into a hospital for a “really, really, really hard” 24 hours, during which she felt “mom guilt” for not being with her daughter so soon after her arrival.
Thankfully, the birth itself was “fantastic,” and Sofia was grateful that both she and her baby were “healthy” and “safe.”
