YPD police dog finds large amount of fentanyl, cocaine, during traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said a city police dog Wednesday found two bags of drugs that were thrown out of a car that was being pulled over by police.

The driver of the car, Dominique Lucky, 36, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on first-degree felony counts of possession of cocaine and possession of fentanyl. He is expected to be arraigned Friday in municipal court.

Reports said Lucky was the driver of a car pulled over by police at about 2:50 p.m. at Madison and Wick Avenues for an illegal turn. Reports said as the car was being pulled over officers saw two plastic bags being tossed from the car.

When the car stopped police told Lucky they saw him throw the bags from the car and he denied it. Reports said he told police to “go find them so we can get this over with.”

A police dog was called and the dog found the two bags in the grass on the side of the road, reports said.

Reports said police also found $554 cash on Lucky when he was searched.
