He’s torn this country into two

Apart from penning bestsellers for the past 5 decades, another thing that the horror maestro excels at is when it comes to taking shots at Donald Trump. To put it mildly, the acclaimed author Stephen King isn’t a fan of Trump and has been pretty outspoken about his viewpoints on the Home Alone star.

From calling his presidency into question to expressing his distaste for the former US president, the author has continued to voice his issues with Trump and even accused him of dividing the country into two.

Ahead of Doctor Asleep‘s release, Stephen King joined Time for an interview, in which he went into detail about a plethora of topics, including his stance on then-President Donald Trump.

Sharing his disdain for the Home Alone star, the acclaimed author claimed“he’s[Trump] torn this country in two”, and suggested that his stay at the office was on the verge of ending.

Let’s put it this way: if the Russians aren’t paying him, they should have, because he’s torn this country in two. I think that his 15 minutes are just about up. I think even his hardcore supporters have started to soften.

This is one of the many instances when the author ripped into the Home Alone star, and it doesn’t seem he’s planning to slow down anytime soon.

Apart from ripping into Trump on a regular, the author recently gave his seal of approval to a new adaptation, led by Mike Flanagan. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Karen Gillan, and Mark Hamill, Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck opened to rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival, and the author too came forward to sing its praises.

Taking to X, The Shining author described it as “one of the good ones” when it comes to adaptations of his acclaimed novels, stressing that it may not be what fans expect from him.

Mark Hamill too chimed in to sing the film’s praises and deemed it“a feel-good apocalypse movie” that is unlike anything Flanagan and King have done before. However, fans might’ve to wait to witness this one, as the film is yet to receive a public release date. But following the good word-of-mouth surrounding the flick, fans will hope the wait won’t be too long.
