STRICTLY Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri was left almost in tears on The One Show last night when her parents surprised her with an emotional message.
Strictly 2024 star Tasha appeared on the show with pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec following their incredible modern dance routine to Pink’s track What About Us? on Saturday night.
The former Love Islander spoke about the backlash to her appearance on the BBC competition, which has seen her being trolled by Strictly fans over her previous dance experience.
The interview was then interrupted when Alex Jones revealed they had a special message from Tasha’s mum and dad.
Tasha couldn’t hide her emotion, as her mum Nicky said: “The dance on Saturday was just absolutely amazing. I’m kind of lost for words.
“It was moving, it was powerful and it was so meaningful. And it meant so much to you and so much to us.
“I’m probably going to start crying again. Well done, we love you so much.”
Dad Tarek echoed the praise, and said in a moving message: “Tash, I was already full of pride the second you were born and you keep piling it on. The overflow is now tears.
“With or without disabilities, people can often feel in a dark place. And your performance resonated with so many people for different reasons.
“Your passion for helping others is admirable. You have a very, very special heart. Never change, darling. We all love you, Princess and, Aljaz, thanks for everything.”
Their powerful Couple’s Choice routine saw them dancing barefoot and leaping around the dance floor, with incredible lifts in the mix too.
Once it was finished, they received a standing ovation from the studio audience.
Despite blowing audiences away, Tasha and Aljaz failed to nab a perfect score after Craig Revel Horwood refused them his 10 paddle.
The judges were also slammed over the weekend after two women landed in the dance off and Sam Quek was sent home.
Sam was in the dance off against Montell Douglas, who had finished fourth on the leaderboard on Saturday night after Strictly’s first Icons Week.
The judges unanimously voted to save Montell, but during her explanation, Motsi Mabuse appeared to take a swipe at the public for failing to vote for the two women.
Motsi said: “I would have to agree with Craig, both girls danced beautifully and it just feels like we’re losing girls and girls and I’m like ‘What is happening?’
“But when I compared the two dances, the Waltz and the slow Fox[trot], I am going to save Montell and Johannes.”
Strictly fans were outraged that the two women were in the dance off, but some felt the judges were to blame as much as the public.
Responding to Motsi’s comment, one wrote on X: “What’s happening Motsi is that you judges terribly over mark the men.”
Another added: “Well Motsi, if you want girls to stay , stop overmarking all the blokes…..which the judges are doing to certain boys week after week.”

A third tweeted: “So frustrating when the judges can’t mark properly as we then have the wrong people in the dance off & the wrong couple going home.
“Watching the smile fade off Sam’s face after she did well each week was infuriating when her male counterparts had mistakes ignored.”
