A man was safely rescued early Sunday morning after being stranded on the roof of his truck by rising flood waters in Lawrence County.
According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday morning on County Road 150. The sheriff’s office dispatched its Swift Water Rescue Team to assist the Courtland Fire Department with the operation. Rescue divers entered the fast-moving water and retrieved the individual who was transferred to a boat and brought to safety without injury.
The operation took about 5 hours, according to sheriff’s officials.
Saturday night, the team also rescued a woman from rising flood waters on County Road 167 in Moulton.
