Calvin Ridley’s 37th NFL touchdown different from the rest

Calvin Ridley’s 37th NFL touchdown different from the rest

In his first five NFL seasons, former Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley scored 36 touchdowns. On Sunday, Ridley scored his first touchdown for the Tennessee Titans, and his 37th NFL score was different from the rest in another way, too.

In motion across the backfield, Ridley took a handoff from quarterback Will Levis, swept around the right end and beat the New York Jets defense to the pylon for the first points of Sunday’s game with 2:30 left in the first quarter.

Ridley’s first NFL rushing touchdown covered 10 yards.

Entering Sunday’s game, Ridley had 327 receptions for 4,408 yards and 36 touchdowns in 67 NFL games. He also had 22 rushing attempts for 85 yards.

Ridley played his first four NFL seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. He joined the Titans as a free agent during the offseason for a four-year, $92 million contract.
