Caroline Ellison, the former business partner and ex-girlfriend of Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the now-bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday for her role in the theft of $8 billion (around €7.4 billion) in client funds by Bankman-Fried. The latter was convicted last year of fraud and other charges and is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence for the collapse of FTX in 2022.
