A nanny faces child endangerment and sexual assault charges in connection with children who were under her care.
Helen Leah Ferriolo, 40, of Wallingford was arrested last Friday on four counts of risk of injury to a minor, three counts of second-degree unlawful restraint and a single count of fourth-degree sexual assault, according to the North Haven Police Department.
Police said they began investigating her in August when they received a complaint from a concerned parent about “lewd behavior” suspected to have occurred the prior month between a babysitter and nanny and the children under her care.
North Haven detectives worked with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families to investigate the accusations.
According to police, investigators interviewed multiple “involved adults” and did forensic interviews with multiple minors.
Police said they obtained a warrant for Ferriolo’s arrest before she was charged.
