Police are investigating a suspicious death at an apartment in Wethersfield reported on Tuesday evening.
Police officers were requested to respond to an apartment building at 1320 Berlin Turnpike shortly after 6 p.m. after medics who were called to one of the units on the report of a medical emergency found a woman who was dead, according to the Wethersfield Police Department.
The police department’s Detective Division responded to the scene and would later request assistance from the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad and the New Britain State’s Attorney’s Office “based upon the suspicious circumstances,” police said.
“Based on preliminary information, this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community at this time,” police said in a statement.
Authorities are withholding the name of the woman until next of kin notifications can be made.
No additional information was immediately available.
