Phenomenal Pogacar completes 100 kilometer attack and writes cycling history, Evenepoel finishes fifth

Superlatives fall short. A phenomenal Tadej Pogacar (26) has been crowned world champion after a great song. At 100 kilometers from the finish, the Slovenian dropped a bomb on the Bergstrasse and Remco Evenepoel and co did not see him again. Ben O’Connor and Mathieu van der Poel finished second and third respectively. Evenepoel crossed the line in fifth place.
