What’s next for Auburn football? What to know about Georgia

What’s next for Auburn football? What to know about Georgia

Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma was another frustrating one for Auburn, but now it must turn the page as it faces its toughest test of the season so far.

Auburn’s next contest is its first road game of the year and a date with Georgia, the team that just lost its first regular season game since 2020. The Bulldogs are coming off a 41-34 loss to Alabama, a game where they trailed by 28 points, but came back and led in the fourth quarter.

“For us, humility is always a week away,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said after the game. “We gotta go get ready for another tough opponent coming to our place.”

Before losing to Alabama, Georgia was coming off a 13-12 scare in a win over Kentucky after scoring blowout wins over Clemson and Tennessee Tech.

Georgia is led by veteran quarterback Carson Beck who threw for over 400 yards against Alabama, but also threw four interceptions, including one that sealed the game for Alabama.

For Auburn, it’s a tall order to bounce back from a hard loss against a team as good as Georgia, but the team’s leaders don’t want the motivation to go away.

“How we pick up the momentum is [Georgia] put us as their homecoming. So that’s enough motivation as it is,” Keldric Faulk said after Saturday’s game. “We’ve got to create our own momentum throughout the week, and then come Saturday, they’re going to get everything we’ve got.”
