Jared Goff’s perfect game for Lions includes 70-yarder to Jameson Williams

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed all 18 of his passes during a 42-29 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night, and the biggest chunk of his 292 passing yards came on a 70-yard touchdown connection with wide receiver Jameson Williams.

Goff and Williams have hooked up for five regular-season touchdowns, and all covered at least 32 yards. Monday night’s TD replaced a 52-yarder in the Lions’ season-opening 26-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams at the top of the list.

Williams’ touchdown allowed Detroit to take a 35-20 lead with 2:52 left in the third quarter.

Goff threw his second touchdown pass of the game – an 8-yarder – to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown with 5:23 remaining to put the Lions ahead 42-27.

Goff became the first player in NFL history to throw more than 10 passes in a game without an incompletion.

Goff also caught a touchdown pass on a 7-yard throw from St. Brown.

Detroit didn’t rely entirely on the pass. Like Williams an Alabama alumnus, running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 78 yards and two touchdowns on 14 rushing attempts. Gibbs scored on a 3-yard run with 14:48 left in the first half and a 1-yard run with 5:11 left in the first half.

Williams finished with two receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Seattle quarterback Geno Smith completed 38-of-56 passes for 395 yards with one touchdown and one interception, running back Kenneth Walker ran for 80 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries and wide receiver DK Metcalf had seven receptions for 104 yards.
