OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. (WHNT) — When many think of the holidays, long hours in the kitchen come to mind but, there are some options out there if “free time” is a priority.
“We do everything from a single turkey breast to a medium-sized turkey to a large turkey,” Tony Mammarella said. “We do ham dinners, we do full dinners, we can just give you mashed potatoes if you really just don’t want to deal with mashed potatoes.”
Mammarella is an executive chef for Food City. His team offers a pre-made option, which for some families, may be less expensive than buying ingredients to cook at home.
“It is such an easy way for them to enjoy the holiday and let us do the work, really, that’s what it’s about,” he said. “It’s having the simplification and giving you more time to spend with your families at home, and you know, we take some of the the hard part.”
Many stores in North Alabama offer fully cooked meals that come ready to pop in the oven- or right on the table.
Mammarella said their pricing starts around $75.
“It’ll be mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing, green beans, gravy, and I say gravy because if you get a turkey, it’ll be turkey gravy, if you get a ham you get brown gravy,” he said. “Then that’ll come with dinner rolls and then the protein.”

“We have plenty of options,” District Manager Myron McCormick said. “If you want us to do it, we can do it also, so we try to make it convenient for everyone.”
