The world is in total upheaval right now, at least for those who follow and love the chat show, The View. Hosted by a range of popular entertainment personalities, including Whoopi Goldberg, the hosts are avid Kamala Harris supporters and have been finding it hard to believe that their favorite leader lost against the phenomenon that is Donald Trump.
Most of them wearing all-black outfits to show their disappointment, the hosts appeared to disintegrate in the latest episode of the show as they all mourned the gigantic landslide victory of Trump. And netizens have been having a particularly good time seeing sorrowful reactions.
Whoopi Goldberg Finds it Hard to Believe Donald Trump is the Next US President
Whoopi Goldberg has always been critical of the former and now the upcoming US president Donald Trump. Whether it is through interviews or through her talk show, The View, the Hollywood star has made her resentment known and has even refused to say his name or put ‘President’ before his name.
The latest episode was pretty much the same, and more, since Goldberg was in denial of Trump’s victory despite claiming that Kamala Harris kicked his butt all over the country over the course of those two months, despite having only two months to campaign. While political pundits and analysts would say otherwise given how grounded Trump’s campaign was (see Brookings and CNN), Goldberg and her fellow hosts continue to believe Harris did everything she could to secure a win.
As the Hollywood star continues to be in denial of the election results, claiming what more the Vice President should have done to appeal to the public, netizens have been having a great time blasting The View’s hosts and their problematic opinions (see X). While some can’t believe how ‘unaware’ the hosts are, others had a laugh seeing them mourn the results of the election.
The View’s Sunny Hostin Gets Brutally Humiliated
In the recent episode of The View, host Sunny Hostin folded herself in an uncomfortable spotlight when her co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, took issue with her comments about certain voters. Although the exchange was far from heated, it was a significant moment that highlighted how we need a broad perspective on political issues rather than using dismissive language.
While talking about why Donald Trump won, Sunny Hostin proceeded to ask why a certain ‘voter demographic’ voted for Trump instead of Harris.
So why do you think that uneducated white women voted against their reproductive health freedoms? And why do you think Latino men voted in favor of someone that’s going to deport, says he’s going to deport, the majority of his community?
Hostin’s comments apparently implied that such voter demographic voted against their own interests, a stance that her fellow co-host Griffin found was condescending.
I don’t think women like being called uneducated white women. I think the economy matters, national security matters, but when you put people in these boxes, I think that’s a takeaway from this phrase.
Griffin’s response, although respectful, spoke volumes about how out of touch the hosts of The View can be. Her counter not only brought back a sense of reality to the conversation, highlighting the complexity of voter dynamics and decisions, but also gave a real-time input on Hostin’s unchecked commentary.
